The month of October is celebrated worldwide as Down Syndrome Awareness Month. A time when we are all reminded of the need to advocate for the rights of persons with Down Syndrome, show our support, and avoid stigmatization.
On Wednesday, the 26th of October 2022, Galaxy International School hosted a team from the National Down Syndrome Association of Ghana. They spoke on some challenges facing persons with Down syndrome and the need for us all to lend our voices. The team also included parents who shared their personal experiences raising children with Down syndrome.
As an institution, we believe in the unique abilities of every child. We believe every child deserves equal opportunities; therefore, we will continue to create awareness for all persons with Down Syndrome.
