The much anticipated International Schools Sports Association of Ghana (ISSAG) Tournament took off on October 18, 2019, and the venue was the Achimota School. Many competitive matches were played; talents and stupendous skills exhibited.
Galaxy International as expected made an appearance and made their mark in the tournament.
On two teams, the Boy’s and Girl’s team played their hearts out and had some matches going on in their favour.
The first match played by the Boy’s team was against Merton International. We beat them by an outstanding 4 goals to nil. Next was the match with SOS. After 40 minutes of the play, we were down by 3 goals to nil.
The third was our game against Morgan International’s Boys’ Team. This game was one cagey affair, ending in a penalty shootout. We won by a slight margin of 5 goals to 4, qualifying us to the quarter-finals.
We played Akosombo first for the quarter-finals but lost by a goal to nil.
On girls’, just like the boys, were also great on the field. The first match against the Morgan International and this ended with us losing by a lone goal to nil. The second match was against Akosombo Int. and this time, our girls came out with a clean sheet, winning by 4 goals to zero. Their third was against ICS but they unfortunately lost by four goals to nil.
The tournament, on a whole, was fun, entertaining and a good source of exposure for young talents.
