Duke of Edinburg (Head of State Awards) Adventurous Journey 2020

Students in the Duke of Edinburgh programme successfully finished their Adventurous Journey section of Bronze Level Award. The programme started with the task of cooking their own dinner. They chose their own recipe and brought their ingredients in order to cook the meals. The result was delicious yummy meals. They all had a good time enjoying their own meals.

The next phase of the programme involved training from Duke of Edinburgh officials about map reading and other forms of learning relevant to the personal development of the participants. They then had some entertainment after which, they retired to their tents to get rested and prepared for the next day’s session.

The following day’s adventure got the students engaged in activities such as hiking and communication with the local people of the area. The programme came to an end that afternoon after which they got back to the school around 1 pm.

Though they returned exhausted, they nevertheless felt a great sense of satisfaction and fulfilment for having successfully embarked on the adventure and learnt useful lessons.

Mr. Akabutu, Mr. Abdulwaris, Madam Halima and Duke of Edinburburg officials joined the adventure for the safety, guidance and wellbeing of the participating students.
